Please find below our Terms of Hire which covers the conditions upon which you hire our equipment, any bookings made are on agreement that you accept and adhere to these conditions. Dream a Little Dream Soft Play Terms and Conditions of Hire
(Hire Agreement, Health & Safety instructions and The Equipment)
It is the responsibility of the person who is hiring this Equipment to ensure that all possible steps are taken to avoid injury or damage. These guidelines are for the safety of all people using this equipment, and it is the sole responsibility of the hirer to ensure they are fully adhered to at all times.
Please ensure that the following Safety Instructions are followed:
1. It is the Hirer’s responsibility to check the site measurements for the required package, and also to ensure that there is adequate space surrounding the Soft Play, Play Equipment. The Soft Play, Play Equipment will only be set up in an open space, we will not be responsible for moving anything not owned by us; a clear space should be made for us prior to our arrival. There should be plenty of space available away from any glass/breakables. If sufficient space is not available at the venue site for the package ordered, we reserve the right to remove certain items, at our discretion, for health and safety reasons. However, you will still be charged for them. The Hirer must ensure that the area around the soft play equipment is completely clear at all times.
2. It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure that there is easy access to the venue for unloading (delivery) and loading (collection) of the equipment. If there are any issues such as 'lack of parking on site' , 'stairs' and/or any other issues, these should be reported to Dream a Little Dream soft play hire prior to the day of the hire to enable us to make any arrangements where necessary. Free parking must also be supplied to us to deliver your package. Our delivery vehicles are to be allowed drive on access to the exact location to where the equipment is to be installed, or if to a building as close as possible to the installation location. The company reserve the right to refuse delivery if the venue or site is deemed to be unsuitable or due to insufficient space to install the equipment by our delivery personnel or if no prior written notice has been received, we may refuse to install the equipment if upon arrival it is found that the exact installation location is an unreasonable or an excessive loading distance from our delivery vehicle to the installation site. Or the client has failed to notify us regarding obstacles such as stairs / steps etc. in such a case no refund will be given and the full contracted fees will be due to the company.
3. We will always make every effort to arrive in plenty of time to set up the equipment, however in the event of any unforeseen circumstances beyond Dream a Little Dream soft plays control such as severe weather conditions or major traffic problems, then Dream a Little Dream soft play cannot be held responsible.
4. If the event of adverse weather on the day, such as heavy snow or ice which would be dangerous to travel in, we reserve the right to cancel the booking. In such cases we will return any deposit.
5. Please allow 45-60 minutes before the event for us to deliver and set up the equipment, and also 45-60 minutes after the event for us to take down and remove the equipment.
6. The Hirer must agree that the area where the goods are to be situated will be free from obstructions, debris and that there is strictly no dog foul (for outdoor bookings) where the equipment is to be sited, before our drivers arrive.
7. Avoid mixing older/large children on the Soft Play, Play Equipment at the same time as younger/small ones.
8. No glass drinking glasses or bottles to be used on or near the Soft Play, Play Equipment.
9. STRICTLY no alcohol or drug use on or near the Soft Play, Play Equipment – We will not be held liable for any damage, accidents or injury that occurs due to the consumption and effects of alcohol and/or drug use. To comply with insurance regulations participants must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs (prescribed or non-prescribed) or any other intoxicating substance whilst using the Soft Play, Play Equipment.
10. No food, drink or chewing gum to be allowed on or near the Soft Play, Play Equipment, this will avoid choking and mess. All our equipment will be delivered in a clean and sanitary state. Please ensure that the Soft Play, Play Equipment is kept in a clean, dry condition. Any spillages must be cleaned and dried as soon as they occur. Should there be significant dirt or staining upon collection the Hirer will be made liable for professional cleaning costs. Equipment must be collected clean and undamaged for the full damage deposit to be issued. If there is any damage, however slight, or any lost/stolen equipment the deposit will not be returned on collection. Equipment will be brought back to our Depot and an assessment carried out to determine how much you’ll be charged for a repair or replacement. If equipment damaged or lost is over the cost of £75, you will be expected to pay the full amount for the equipment priced as brand new within 7 days of the date of hire. I am aware that whilst in my care I am fully responsible for the Equipment and will pay for any loss or damage that may occur.
11. Shoes MUST be removed before using the Soft Play, Play Equipment. Parents/guardians who enter the Soft Play area or walk over the padded floor tiles whilst supervising must remove their shoes, particularly heels. Any damage may result in the Hirer having to pay an additional fee for replacement or repair. This is also for the health & safety of users of the soft play equipment to prevent injury.
12. For hygiene reasons, socks should be worn at all times whilst using the Soft Play, Play Equipment.
13. You shall not allow any persons to use our Equipment if they are ill. You must not allow anyone to use our Equipment in the following circumstances: They have had an upset stomach or diarrhoea in the 48 hours prior to the hire date; they have symptoms of a possible communicable disease; for further illnesses and exclusion period if applicable please see our full T’s & C’s on our website.
14. You confirm that you and all persons are able to take part in our Services/use our Equipment. You agree that you as the Hirer and persons intending on using our Equipment for which your booking is made are able to take part in the Services you have ordered from us. You are agree that by using our Services and Equipment it would not be harmful to either you, any persons safety, health or physical condition by doing so. You must inform us of any medical conditions that you or any persons may suffer from as we will not be liable for any damage, loss or injury suffered by you or any persons where you partake in an activity which you are aware or ought to have been aware may or would be detrimental to you or them. Ensure that no-one with a history of back or neck problems or any medical condition which could reasonably be aggravated by using the Soft Play, Play Equipment is allowed on the Soft Play, Play Equipment.
15. Do not allow children with medical conditions, which may put them at risk of injury (i.e. brittle bone disease or temporary injuries), to use the Soft Play, Play Equipment.
16. The Hirer must ensure that no toys are allowed on the Soft Play, Play Equipment and all sharp objects, including but not limited to, badges, spectacles, earrings, jewellery etc. are removed prior to accessing the Soft Play, Play Equipment to ensure it remains undamaged from but not limited to, scratches, tears, dirt (of any kind), detached from its connecting item (if applicable) and in the same working condition as delivered. If damage does occur the Hirer will incur a repair or replacement charge as outlined in term 10. This is also for the health & safety of users of the soft play equipment to prevent injury.
17. No face paints, party poppers, confetti, coloured streamers or silly string to be used either on or near the Soft Play, Play Equipment – staining may occur for which the Hirer will be liable.
18. Strictly NO acrobatics or gymnastics to be performed on the Soft Play, Play Equipment.
19. Dream a Little Dream soft play hire accepts no responsibility regarding photography of children using the Soft play equipment.
20. Please ensure that equipment hired is not scattered around the venue. Equipment must be collected and placed back to the set up area so we do not spend time looking for items when we arrive to collect. This will also save you time if you have a set time to be out of a venue.
21. Please do not release our equipment to anyone other than our staff. If the member of staff who delivers to you is not the same member who will collect from you they will inform you and give you a description of the person/people coming to collect to avoid confusion and theft of our equipment.
22. The Hirer must ensure the equipment is supervised at ALL times by a responsible person aged 18 or over, preferably the Hirer. We are a hire only company and do not supervise the party/event. We and our staff accept no liability for any damage, accidents or injuries that may occur whilst the equipment is on hire should there not be a responsible adult supervising at the time of the incident. Our Rules of Play board will be displayed alongside your package and must be adhered to.
23. We will set up the equipment taking into account full safety of the children, and therefore large equipment, such as the ball pool, Step & Slide must not be moved. We will not accept any liability for accidents, injury or damage during the period of hire if this has occurred. Photographs are taken to evidence this upon setup. The Hirer must ensure that the area around the soft play equipment is completely clear at all times.
24. Dream a Little Dream soft play hire cannot accept any responsibility for any injury caused to anyone during the use of the Soft Play, Play Equipment. We will take every precaution we can by ensuring we do not supply any Soft Play, Play Equipment with a serious defect; we will ask you to check the equipment once it has been set up to confirm you are happy with everything before we leave the premises. In the event that a defect is discovered upon set up then we will take that item away with us to prevent potential injury.
25. The person/s or organisation hiring this equipment will be responsible/liable for any damage or injury occurring from or as a result of misuse or reckless use.
26. The Soft Play and Play Equipment is strictly for use by children ages 5 years and under only. Under no circumstances should ADULTS (unless for the sole purpose of assisting a child) or children over 5 play on the Soft Play or Play Equipment as this will, in time, result in damage to the Equipment or injury to the individual(s) / children.
27. Most of our equipment is designed for ages 5 years and under, although some items may be suitable for slightly older children (towards the top end of our age bracket) and some not suitable for children younger than 12 months. Please ensure the items you book are appropriate for the age of the children you are intending to use them. If you have any doubt please ask us. Please note that although our equipment may be used/accessed by adults to supervise and facilitate children's play, it is not designed or intended for adult use/recreation. Please ensure that no one over the recommended age uses the equipment, otherwise this may result in the loss of damage deposit.
28. Climbing, hanging or sitting on ball pit walls is DANGEROUS and must not be allowed. Adults must not lean or sit on any Soft Play, Play Equipment or Ball Pool walls. It also causes excessive wear to the Soft Play, Play Equipment.
29. We request that there must be a minimum of 2 responsible adults (over the age of 18) supervising children at all times. To comply with insurance regulations responsible adults must not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs (prescribed or non-prescribed) or any other intoxicating substance when in charge or supervising the Soft Play, Play Equipment. Where smaller children are using the equipment i.e. as young as 1 year old we strongly recommend that there are more than 2 adults supervising them at all times.
30. It is the hirer and the supervising adults responsibility to ensure that the equipment does not become too overcrowded and is not used inappropriately or in any manner likely to cause injury. It is the hirer and the supervising adults responsibility to limit numbers according to the age and size of children using it.
31. The Ball Pool should ideally be limited to no more than 3 children at any one time. It is the responsibility of the supervising adults to reduce that number accordingly if particularly young children are in the Pool with older ones.
32. Rockers should be supervised closely and a maximum of 2 children should play on them at a time.
Hoppers should be supervised closely and a maximum of 1 child should play on one hopper at a time.
33. Children are not permitted to play on the equipment during set up or collection/packing away of the Soft Play, Play Equipment.
34. In the event of any accident, incident or injury however slight during the use of our equipment we will make available the `Softplay Incident Book` to enable compliance with our Insurance conditions, professional medical advice must be sought within 1 hour of the injury occurring, reports are likely to be requested by the Insurance company should a claim arise.
35. Children must NOT push, collide, fight or behave in a manner likely to injure or cause distress to others. Please ensure that participants are not attempting somersaults and are clothed appropriately with nothing in their pockets.
36. No furniture to be placed on the mats as this may cause damage.
37. No smoking or barbecues near or within an unsafe distance of the Soft Play, Play Equipment.
38. No pets or animals to be allowed on or near the Soft Play, Play Equipment.
39. The Hirer is responsible for the safe keeping of the Soft Play, Play Equipment. You will be charged for theft or any damage caused to it or for any items missing from it on its return. Full replacement charge for any missing items will be incurred. This includes any accessories which accompany the equipment, i.e. Soft toys, mats etc.
40. Our equipment is available to hire indoors, this can be in a venue, your home or within a party tent where a suitable covered space that will remain dry is available for our equipment to be set up. A party tent could be a very large/suitable sized gazebo, marquee or tent. The covered space/party tent must have 4 walls to ensure full coverage. The only exception to this is if on the day the weather is good and is to remain good with no chance of rain/inclement weather then we are happy to set up outside. The ground must be firm and dry, our equipment cannot be setup on damp or muddy ground whatsoever.
It is the hirers responsibility to ensure the chosen venue has adequate space for setup of the equipment. We only accept bookings where a covered dry space or indoor venue is on offer as our equipment is not suitable for use in the rain. Our equipment must not get wet in any circumstance. · The Soft Play, Play Equipment should not be used if it becomes wet or in the event of rain, the Soft Play, Play Equipment should not be used. If upon arrival and rain is set to be forecast or change and there is no suitable indoor or covered area to set up then we would be left with no alternative than to cancel your booking. This will understandably lead to disappointment however, all bookings are made by the customer on this basis. Please discuss prior to booking if you have any queries or concerns around this.
41. Our equipment can become very hot in the sun, please make sure you have a shaded area or party tent otherwise it will become dangerous for your little ones to play on. Please discuss prior to booking if you have any queries or concerns around this.
42. Although the Soft play equipment and Balls from the ball pool are cleaned after every event it is recommended that supervising adults discourage children from placing balls in their mouths for hygiene purposes.
43. We advise that safety mats must always be used under ball pool and all Soft play items. We provide floor tiles with all our packages at no extra cost.
44. Particular care should be taken when younger children and toddlers are exiting the ball pool, climbing on top of any soft play to ensure no accidents, incidents, injury or damage occur. Diving/ jumping into or standing on the side of the ball pool or soft play items MUST NOT be allowed in an attempt to prevent injury.
45. Soft play equipment and ball pool balls MUST NOT be thrown and the ball pool should not be moved once set up. Please do not attempt to move or dismantle any of the equipment yourself. Dream a Little Dream Soft Play will set up the equipment taking into account full safety of the children, and therefore large equipment, such as the ball pool must not be moved. We will not accept any liability for accidents, injury or damage during the period of hire if this has occurred. Photographs are taken to evidence this upon setup.
46. Please make sure that none of our equipment is removed or taken from the venue in which we deliver it to.
47. In the event that any piece of the Soft Play, Play Equipment becomes damaged or defective during your hire period, please ensure all users get off the equipment immediately and cease use of this item.
48. Please be mindful that we would like to collect our equipment in the same condition in which we leave it when it is delivered to you. We would like lots of little ones to be able to enjoy the use of our equipment just the same as your little ones will. Please make sure all the above is adhered to and that supervision is supplied to ensure that there is no misuse of our equipment.
49. The company reserves the right to cease operation and remove hired equipment from site if at any time a representative of the company feels that the guests or clients conduct endangers the safety of the guests, clients, themselves, the company’s staff or the safety of the hired equipment. At no time will any level of abuse against our staff be tolerated. In all such cases no refund will be given and full contracted fees will be due to the company.
Balls from the ball pit must be collected before our arrival to collect equipment. If balls are not collected and put back the way the equipment was set up, £20 of the damage deposit will not be returned as we have to pay extra time for staff to extend their hours working. This may affect us at our next set up for another party so please don’t make us late for our next party set up.
I have read the above agreement and hereby agree to abide by the terms and conditions of hire outlined in this document, fully understand and accept the conditions as above. I also agree that I accept and will abide by the terms and conditions as laid out by Dream a Little Dream Soft Play hire (of which are documented in full on the website), finally I agree to abide by the Rules of Play as documented on the Rules of Play board.
